Two men – and the bottle

Two men – and the bottle

Recently I heard such sad news. A man in his forties whom I knew a little, had been found dead. He had been homeless for a while, as he was no longer able to live with family. Although he’d been provided with accommodation, his lifestyle was such that he couldn’t carry on there..

  • Bloody good

Most of you who are reading this will know that when asked what the greatest commandment is, Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.

  • God’s Peace in the COVID World

    What is peace?

  • Just, be.

Hey, have you ever thought about, just being you? And that just being you is enough? That it’s not something that we have to tell ourselves but something that we are told to do.

  • When lukewarm is convenient

Have you read the same thing as a friend but had a different interpretation of it?

  • A letter from your Father

My words are true, you can trust me. Even if you don't know if you can trust the words of those around you, you can trust me. I will protect your heart; you will find wholeness in me. I am your home.

  • Wear your spiritual face mask

I was convinced that God was wanting me to get baptised. This was the “next logical step” in my “Christian walk” and nothing was going to stop me.*

  • On self-care, the cup metaphor and Jesus

Self-care was a buzzword a few years ago now but the overall practice which it stands for remains important. We have a responsibility to take care of ourselves. To be good friends, partners, spouses, employees, volunteers, we need to be ready and able to show up to the people and other responsibilities in our lives.

  • The world has gone mad but then again it hasn’t

Dear Christians, I am writing to encourage you in the face of increasing pressure to conform to the world. It may feel like we are wading into unprecedented times for those who want to faithfully live the way God has laid out but I endeavour to encourage you that although the pressure and persecution is different it is not new.
